Pepper spray, petty drama and a price tag – My Flatmates

Just when we thought the chaos at the flat couldn’t get any messier, Chief Donatus and Mimi took their brewing tension to a whole new, eye-watering level literally. What started as a heated confrontation quickly escalated into pepper spray, claims of blindness, and the threat of a lawsuit.

It all started with some unsolicited marriage advice...
Chief Donatus made the fatal mistake of giving marriage advice no one asked for. He told Frank that Mimi’s recent mood swings were due to her hormones, and like any dutiful husband (or reckless gossip conduit), Frank shared the tea with Mimi. Pro tip: If you tell one person in a couple something, just assume you told them both. So, Mimi showed up angry, confrontational and not in the mood to play games. Words were exchanged, tempers flared, and then out came the pepper spray. Yes, pepper spray, and it landed directly in Chief Donatus’ eyes.

Lights out for Chief (Temporarily)
Now, while the pepper spray did temporarily blind Chief, it didn’t prepare us for his AMVCA-worthy performance in the aftermath. A few days later, Chief was still rocking dark shades, waving a walking stick, and claiming total blindness. Chioma helped him at first, but Dan and Willie? They weren’t buying the dramatics. Rightly so because Chief had a plan.

Chief wants justice (and cash)
Chief Donatus announced plans to sue Mimi for assault and emotional damages. But let’s be real, he wasn’t expecting Mimi to pay up. No, the real target was Frank. Frank, being the responsible husband (read: lowkey scared of lawsuits), tried to broker peace. That’s when Chief named his price.

Chief’s “reasonable” settlement demand
What did Chief Donatus want in exchange for dropping the charges? Oh, just a simple office space in Lekki with two years rent paid in full. Nothing too fancy, just premium real estate in one of Lagos’ most expensive areas. Greedy much

Mimi strikes back
Surprisingly, Frank's dad owned an office space in Lekki and was willing to offer this to Chief Donatus until Mimi caught wind of the arrangement and went full sabotage. She told Frank’s dad everything, and just like that, the offer was off the table. Now, Chief has no office, no money, and no court case. Just vibes... and a lot of frustration.

Despite the failed lawsuit and zero compensation, Chief isn’t giving up just yet. He’s still pestering Frank for some kind of settlement. Will he get it? Or will Mimi block him again?
Find out as the madness continues on My Flatmates, showing weekdays at 7 PM on Africa Magic Showcase.
