The race to the finale has begun and the Nigerian Idol Contestants will be giving us amazing performances back to back. This week the Contestants will perform two songs each, with each song centred around two major themes. The first is ‘How it Should Have Been Done’ while the second is ‘Year I Was Born’. The first theme will see the Contestants do cover versions of how certain songs should have been done while the second will contain hits from the year each Contestant was born. How it should have been done
Banty: ‘Listen’ by Beyonce
Banty is going to be performing Listen, an original soundtrack from the movie Dreamgirls originally performed by Beyonce in 2006. Watch Banty's previous Live Show performance below.
Jordan: ‘Grenade’ by Bruno Mars
Jordan will be performing Grenade by Bruno Mars. The song was released in 2010 as part of Bruno’s album Doo-Wops & Hooligans. Missed Jordan's previous Live Show performance? Watch it below.
Progress: ‘I Will Alway Love You’ by Whitney Houston
Progress will take on the great Whitney Houston as he will perform her version of I Will Always Love You. Originally written in 1973 by country singer Dolly Parton, In 1992, Whitney Houston decided to rearrange it as a soul ballad. Check out Progress' previous Live Show performance below.
Zadok: ‘And I Am Telling You’ by Jennifer Hudson
Zadok will also be performing a song from the musical Dreamgirls. This time he will take on the vocally tasking solo And I Am Telling You. Missed Zadok's previous Live Show performance? Watch it below.
Year I Was Born
Banty: ‘I Wanna Be Down’ by Brandy
For this category, Banty will be performing the 1994 hit I Wanna Be Down by Brandy. The song is the
debut single by Brandy from her self-titled debut album.
Jordan: ‘I Want It That Way' by Backstreet Boys
Jordan will give us some boy-band flavour with I Want It That Way by Backstreet Boys. The song was released in 1999 as part of the album Millenium.
Progress: ‘Swear It Again’ by Westlife
Also going the boy-band route is Progress who will perform Swear it Again by Irish boy-band Westlife.
Zadok: ‘I’ll Make Love To You’ by Boyz II Men
Zadok will also toe the line of his colleagues as he is set to perform I'll Make Love To You by Boyz II Men.
