This week on Africa Magic Showcase's Uriri tugged at all our heartstrings. From Serome's tragic end to Ogaga killing Ochuko and the shocking executions of Queen Evioghene, Obruche, and Igbunu, the drama in Oto Egba and Urhukpe reached new heights.
Serome's mind betrays her
After escaping Ogaga's abuse, Serome's return home should have brought her peace. Instead, she was consumed by guilt and grief over the loss of her unborn daughter, Ufoma. Overwhelmed by her emotions, Serome left her chambers in a frenzy, desperate to find her daughter. Sadly, her panic led her to the river, where she drowned. Ogheneovo and his men later discovered her body during a frantic search.
Ogaga murders his best friend
Meanwhile, in Urhukpe, tragedy struck as Ogaga and his best friend Ochuko got into a physical altercation while Ochuko was preventing Ogaga from harming his son. However, Ogaga, possessed by Aziza, had one mission: to kill Ochuko. He continuously hit him with a stick until he regained his senses, but unfortunately, Ochuko had given up the ghost.
The Okakuro exposes Obruche and Evioghene's affair
In the aftermath of Serome’s death, another scandal rocked the palace. The Okakuro, armed with information from Odiri, revealed a devastating secret to the Ovie: Igbunu was not the King’s son but Obruche’s.
To prove it, the Okakuro provoked a confrontation with Obruche in a bid to undress him and confirm that Obruche bore the same distinctive scar as Igbunu. Once he noticed the scar, Okakuro broke the news to the King, and all hell broke loose. Igbunu and Queen Evioghene were summoned, and Okakuro's claim was proven: Igbunu was, in fact, Obruche and Queen Evioghene's love child, as he had the same scar in the same spot as Obruche.
A fatal accident
Intent on delivering swift justice, the Ovie called for their execution. During the confrontation, Obruche gave a defiant speech that only fueled the King's rage. As the Ovie raised his sword to strike Obruche, Igbunu leaped in to protect him — and was fatally struck instead. Crushed by the death of their son and stripped of all hope, Obruche and Queen Evioghene surrendered to their fate and were beheaded shortly after.
