Fake money, real drama – My Flatmates

What started as a lucky break for Prosper quickly spiralled into a comical case of misfortune. Prosper, ever the optimist, was thrilled to receive a $100 bill from one of Chief Donatus' generous friends. But things took a nosedive when he tried to convert it to Naira, only to discover he'd been scammed with a counterfeit bill.

Watch Prosper get the cash gift

So, how did Prosper end up in this mess? Well, it all began with his search for the best way to exchange his newfound fortune. Naturally, he turned to his bestie, Titus, who promised to help find the best rate. But whether it was greed, impatience, or just a case of "I can do it myself," Prosper decided to bypass Titus and consult someone else. And who did he choose? None other than the most crafty of them all, Ubong.

The scam unfolds
Ubong, ever the resourceful one, claimed to know a guy who could handle the exchange. Off they went, and things seemed to be going smoothly—until they weren’t. After handing over the $100 bill, they haggled over the exchange rate. But just as Prosper was about to get his Naira, Ubong’s guy suddenly flipped out, accusing Prosper of giving him a fake dollar note. The guy angrily returned the bill, but we all know what probably happened: a quick switcheroo, leaving Prosper with a counterfeit bill instead of the real deal. Blissfully unaware of the con, Prosper marched off to confront Chief Donatus, insisting that the dollar he received was fake.

Chief Donatus claps back
Chief Donatus, not one to take such accusations lightly, was quick to defend his friend's honour. He advised Prosper to take a closer look at Ubong, suggesting that maybe, just maybe, his buddy had a hand in the scam. What followed was a heated argument, with accusations flying in every direction.

Determined to get to the bottom of it, Chief Donatus called in a Dibia (traditional healer) to uncover the truth. Suddenly, someone started sweating bullets—yep, you guessed it, Ubong!

The Dibia’s swearing ritual
To reveal the true culprit, the Dibia insisted that everyone swear an oath. This is where Ubong started stalling, dodging the ritual and refusing to recite the incantations. Now, we can't say for certain if Ubong was involved, but his nervous behaviour definitely raised some eyebrows.

Watch the Dibia visit

No one knows for sure who pulled off the dollar scam, but Prosper isn't giving up. He's on a mission to find out the truth, and we’re all rooting for him to get those answers!
