Fans of The Yard were left reeling because episode 65 came in hot and left us all gasping. Not one, not two, but three major characters said their final goodbyes in an explosive episode that felt like five seasons crammed into one night.
Chief Odafe meets his end
Chief Odafe, the mighty lion of Ajakoro, finally got what was coming to him. After a leaked voice note exposed his endless list of crimes, fetish practices, and manipulative grip over the community, the people had had enough. Fired up and ready for justice, they stormed his office, led by Madam Ify and his former right-hand man, Jimi. But let’s just say Jimi’s “hero” moment didn’t quite go as planned. He tried to take on Chief Odafe head-on and, well… he became Odafe’s next victim. RIP to that plan.
The kids finally step up
Chief Odafe seemed unbeatable thanks to his fortification charms, but in a shocking twist, his own kids, who were sick of his tyrannical reign, decided enough was enough. They dug around, found the source of his power, and although they were hesitant, they destroyed it. Left powerless, Chief Odafe was finally at the mercy of the people, and, as you can guess, Ajakoro didn’t exactly give him a warm farewell. Jungle justice took centre stage, and the big lion was taken down for good.
The most heartbreaking exit
Fans may not have been too upset about the first two deaths, but one loss that truly caught us off guard and, let’s be honest, stung a bit was Lekan Idowu’s. Reeling from a (mistaken) HIV diagnosis and a life filled with disappointment and hardship, Idowu decided to end it all. His daughter’s shocked face when she found him hanging perfectly mirrored our own reactions. The poor man had it rough, and we were all rooting for his fate to turn around in the end… but sadly, it wasn’t meant to be.
What's next for Ajakoro?
With Chief Odafe out of the picture, the big question is: Who’s taking over the park? Fans are already praying it’s not Madam Ify. If you thought Odafe was bad, just wait until she gets her hands on that chair; the people might start missing the old days (and that’s saying a lot).
And then there’s Funbi. This girl has been through it all, losing her sister, and now her father. Someone’s going to catch her rage, but who? Her mum? The entire community? A certain ex-boyfriend, perhaps? The possibilities are endless and messy.
