Late one night, he was ambushed by warriors from Idu—swords drawn, ready to strike. And strike they did. Only… it backfired. Literally.
One of the warriors stabbed Omera, but instead of Omera getting hurt, the wounds appeared on the attacker. Now, you’d think common sense would kick in at this point, right? Nope. Another warrior stabbed him again, just to be sure. Well, let’s just say he carries the mark to remind him of his terrible life choices.
Omera, the untouchable
Word spread fast—Omera had Ukpai, the native protection charm. Suddenly, he was being treated like a walking deity, but here’s the plot twist: his powers weren’t just about protecting himself. Turns out, his touch could transfer the protection too. Yep, he’s basically got the magical version of the Midas touch—except instead of turning things into gold, he makes people immune to harm.
The first lucky recipient? Otene. She was in danger from the ruthless ex-vigilante, Onogu, when Omera reached out to help—and just like that, she gained the same protection. Then there was Samson, who had been badly injured in battle. One touch from Omera and—poof!—he was back on his feet like nothing happened.

The people of Ajogu are giving all the credit to Enebi, the chief priest-in-waiting, who also has a protection charm—except his comes from a much darker place. How long before someone finally puts two and two together? And if the rumours are true, Omera’s powers are connected to something even bigger—his supposed destiny to take over his grandfather’s legacy as chief priest.
