Atigbi is a mythical creature who peacefully lived in the land way before the brothers arrived with their human issues. The people describe her kind as myths and legends, the first settlers (and architects) of the villages who in anger after the deceit of Agbeyegbe in creating the high and low born communities, disappeared into the creeks/forests without a trace. Having been told the history of what their ancestors did in many versions, the low borns believe they’re solely responsible for angering the gods (hence why they’re low borns) and driving her kind into the forest of Anguish, the low borns began fearing her, only running to her when they need help and assistance.
