Mikki Micheal Daniel Odionka (Mikki)
Meet Michael Daniel Odionka, known as Mikki, a 27-year-old powerhouse from Calabar South, Cross River. With roots in the choir of the African Church Cathedral of Christ, Mikki’s journey began before he was even born, attending choir practices long before pre-school. Since then, music has been his life’s calling.
From the Sunday School choir to the Cathedral Classical Choir and eventually becoming a Music Director and Gospel Minister at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Mikki’s voice has always carried purpose. He pursued a degree in Music at the University of Calabar, majoring in voice, but temporarily paused his studies to support his brother through a battle with cancer – a testament to his resilience and sacrifice.
Now in the Top 10 of Nigerian Idol Season 10, having made history as the first-ever platinum ticket winner in Season 9, Mikki returns with renewed fire. His sound is shaped by a fusion of gospel greats like Tasha Cobbs, Nathaniel Bassey, and Travis Greene, as well as international icons such as Adele, Beyoncé, and Lionel Richie. Whether it’s Afrobeats, gospel, or soul, Mikki brings emotion, authenticity, and purpose to every note. With a motto of “God, Family, and Music”, he’s not just here to compete, he’s here to inspire, heal, and uplift.
