Nafiu
At 34, Nafiu, better known as ‘Officer,’ is a Police Sergeant trying to balance the chaos of his life in Kaduna. Born into a lower-income family, he’s a man shaped by struggle, ambition, and loyalty. With an HND in hand, Nafiu envisioned a brighter future for himself, but reality has painted a far grimmer picture.
Living in a cramped two-bedroom apartment with his two childhood best friends—his closest confidants and partners in mischief—Nafiu’s life is a mix of camaraderie and crushing responsibility. A “married bachelor” juggling the demands of his wife, two kids, and an extended family that leans heavily on him for support, Nafiu finds little reprieve from the stress.
To cope, he turns to alcohol, using it as a crutch to unwind from the relentless pressures of his job and personal life. But Nafiu’s approach to policing isn’t exactly by the book. In his eyes, the justice system is broken, and he has taken it upon himself to become a modern-day Robin Hood—targeting criminals who hoard wealth through ill-gotten gains and redistributing it, sometimes into his own pockets to ease his burdens.
Despite his morally gray actions, Nafiu is a man of deep loyalty and camaraderie. His bromance with his best friends serves as a rare source of stability, and his sense of humor often shines through the darkest moments. But as he walks the fine line between justice and corruption, Nafiu must grapple with the consequences of his actions and whether his version of fairness is worth the risk of losing everything he holds dear.
