Mr. Pwajok
Mr. Pwajok is a 54-year-old teacher at Ascending Scholars School, carrying the weight of his rich upbringing in Jos. As the son of a fellow educator and a product of a traditional missionary school, he embodies old-school values of integrity, discipline, and unyielding dedication to the art of teaching.
Happily married, Mr. Pwajok shares a cosy two-bedroom apartment with his wife, while his two university-aged sons pursue their own paths. When he's not in the classroom, he finds joy in reading, playing chess, and imparting wisdom to anyone willing to listen.
Clad in plaids, a tweed jacket, polished shoes, and neatly groomed facial hair, Mr. Pwajok’s appearance reflects his old-fashioned demeanour. He’s thoughtful, fearless, and unwavering in his mission to see the school improve, even as he battles the oppressive grip of the Cabal that holds it back. However, his brashness and cantankerous attitude can sometimes rub others the wrong way, earning him the reputation of a stubborn “boomer.”
With retirement looming, Mr. Pwajok is determined to leave the profession with his honour intact, refusing to let the system break his spirit. Even at gunpoint, his straightforwardness and courage shine, making him a steadfast figure of inspiration in an institution teetering on the edge of chaos.
